Versatility is among the trademarks of the Evo N610c. Its hot-swappable amazing MultiBay, for instance, allows a long list of choices: a floppy drive, a second hard disk, a battery, these weight saver, or various optical hard disks such as a DVD/CD-RW combo generate or a plain-Jane CD-ROM generate.

The 14-inch display supports the dense but really crisp native quality of 1,400×1,050, even lighting, and highly soaked colors. The keyboard feels great, too, with a perfect layout (all keys are in the standard Windows layout) and responsive keys. We like the addition of both the pointing stick and a touchpad, although the directed stick, nestled between the G, H, as well as B keys, may sit a little bit low for some, making you hit neighboring keys as you maneuver. Left- and right-computer mouse buttons nestle on top of and below the actual trackpad.The Evo N610c is nicely stocked for a thin-and-light notebook, boasting a 2GHz Pentium 4-Michael processor, 256MB of DDR SDRAM memory (expandable to 1GB), a roomy 40GB hard drive, along with a 32MB ATI Range of motion 7500 graphics controller. The Compaq Evo Laptop Battery  is nothing too special, standard I would say.  The ports and slots are mostly abundant, but the Evo unfortunately lacks a FireWire port. You do, however, get IrDA; serial; parallel; VGA; NTSC/PAL video-out; a 56K modem; Ethernet; headphone; microphone; and two from the new, faster Hardware 2. ports. Both USB ports take presctiption the back advantage–inconvenient if you use all of them a lot. (Additional vendors put at least one USB port quietly edge for easier access.)

For a company notebook, the Evo N610c includes several user-friendly features. Four person-programmable control keys reside above the keyboard and come predetermined, but you can change each to release the application of your decision. The speakers, which also rest above the keyboard, deliver decent seem for a notebook, although nothing like the actual rich sound from bigger laptops like the Toshiba Satellite 5205-S503.

Program these four buttons to launch any kind of application you want.

On the left side, you will find two Type II (one Type III) PC Card slot machines. Unfortunately, the Evo N610c ships with easy-in order to-lose, plastic PC Card dummies, rather than springtime-loaded doors to protect the machine’s innards.
